April
11" x 8.5"
In April of 2002, I taught at
ArtFest in Port Townsend, WA. It was the first time I'd ever travelled so far
by myself, and the first time I'd drive myself in a city of so many people.
I had dreamed of visiting Daniel Smith art supply in Seattle since I'd been
buying from them via mail order almost twenty years earlier and I was thrilled
to drive myself there and walk through the front door. Archie McPhee was another
thrilling trip that weekend. At ArtFest, the colors that year were pink and
orange, so that is what I chose to make this piece with, using the cathedral
window technique on a very stretchy pink sythnetic, the windows revealing photocopies
of the photos I took on my trip.
