Koi to the World

Jeremiah was a bullfrog. No, wait, wrong story. The Franklin Park Conservatory has a koi pond filled with many of these beautiful fish. I am fascinated by their scales, and my favorite is one who looks as though he could be made of mother-of-pearl. This piece incorporates some of my favorite fabrics and embellishments, to capture the spirit of these beautiful creatures. Cotton, silk, and polyester/spandex fabrics, patchwork and applique, embellished with holographic sequins.
