Study for Dita

This piece began as a portrait of my friend's cat Dita, in trade for some vintage kitchenware and other items. Realizing the completed piece's value would exceed the amount of the trade, I chose to finish anyway. I then made another version of Dita, which is now in the collection of my friend. I find it amusing that the study ended up being more valuable than the actual commission. Dita is hand and machine embroidered and embellished with tulle and beads.
