Patchwork cotton and silk form the body of this closeup of a water tower found on the grounds of Andrews Air Force Base in Suitland, Maryland. The water tower looms over the passing vehicles like some strange spaceship. For this piece I chose to keep the embroidery to a minimum, to focus on the shapes and color. The finished embroidery is mounted on acrylic painted canvas.
