Pink Houses

A cherished family photo was the basis for this piece. It is a picture of my aunt's graduation, a typical family group photo at such an event, except that in this image, my great-aunt and cousin (Thelma and Louise, seriously) are making crazy faces, causing my other family members to react. A classic photo. I chose a wonderful Piggly Wiggly button and used the pinks of remembered dresses to complete the piece, done on a base of cotton and batting cut into a house shape. The completed piece is mounted onto canvas painted with fanciful polka dots.
