This piece was made as part of Robin Atkins' “Bead Journal Project” for the month of June. I chose the colors of the local sky and fields as the crops begin to really fill out the furrowed rows that have been plowed earlier in the spring. Vintage buttons sparkle from the plant stalk, which is also embellished with tiny Peruvian ceramic peas. Czech and Japanese seed beads were used to fill in the image, which has been embroidered onto a panel made of cotton and Peltex heavy duty interfacing.
