Cactus Moon

Third in a series based on desert imagery, this is an extreme closeup of the cactus found in Desert Moon I and II. I was inspired by the graphic novel feel to the film “The Hulk”in splitting the larger scene into smaller close focus images. This piece includes Czech seed and glass beads, sequins, and is made using both bead embroidery and machine embroidery. The finished piece is sewn onto canvas which has been painted with Lumiere paint.
