Bead embroidery on a baby dress, using Pellon interfacing to stabilize. Tulle sleeves on dress are left unbeaded for contrast. Beads used include Czech glass, bone, African trade beads and blown glass. Found object, button. Completed dress is sewn to a canvas backing which has been painted “blackboard green”. This piece was inspired by the black and yellow striped button, found when I was cleaning my studio.
